[18th January 2009] Phone System Problems

Hi,

Due to a problem with one of our mobile phones some of you may not have been able to get in touch with us outside of our standard hours of business. The problem was caused by the phone in question sending calls to voice-mail, so that when our out of hours system rang all on call staff, the voice-mail picked up, making our phone system believe someone had picked up the call. Please accept our apologies for this.

We have taken steps to make sure that this does not happen again in the future by modifying the way calls our handled in our system out of normal hours (so that the receiver has to confirm acceptance of the call - which the voice-mail service cannot do).
